A Few Unforgettable Days in Barcelona

Barcelona had been on my travel wishlist for years, and finally spending a few days there felt like stepping into a city that lives and breathes art, history, and joy. From breathtaking architecture to relaxing beach moments, every day brought something new and memorable.

One of the most powerful experiences of my trip was visiting La Sagrada Familia. I had seen countless photos before, but nothing compares to standing in front of it in person. The details, the towering spires, and the way light pours through the stained-glass windows felt almost unreal. Walking inside was peaceful and overwhelming at the same time it truly felt like a place where art and spirituality meet.

Another highlight was spending time at MarBella Playa. After days of walking and sightseeing, the beach was the perfect escape. The sound of the waves, the warm sand, and the relaxed atmosphere made it easy to forget about time. Watching the sunset there was one of those simple but beautiful moments that stays with you long after the trip ends.

I also explored Park Güell, which felt like entering a colorful dream. The playful designs, mosaic-covered benches, and panoramic views of the city made it one of my favorite spots in Barcelona. It was the perfect place to slow down, take photos, and just admire Gaudí’s imagination. Beyond these landmarks, I loved wandering through the city’s streets, discovering small cafés, local food, and hidden corners that don’t always make it into travel guides. Barcelona has a rhythm that pulls you in lively but relaxed, historic yet modern.

Those few days in Barcelona left me with unforgettable memories and a strong desire to return. It’s a city that doesn’t just impress you; it makes you feel alive, inspired, and connected to its culture. Barcelona will always hold a special place in my travel story.

Security and Privacy in E-Tourism

My Personal Experience with Security and Privacy in E-Tourism

Travel planning has become incredibly easy thanks to e-tourism platforms. With just a few clicks, I can book flights, reserve hotels, and pay for experiences from anywhere in the world. While this convenience has transformed the way I travel, it has also made me more aware of the importance of security and privacy, especially when it comes to online booking and digital payments.

Online Booking: Convenience with Hidden Risks

Most of my trips start with online booking websites or mobile apps. These platforms usually require a lot of personal information my full name, email address, phone number, passport details, and sometimes even travel preferences. At first, I didn’t think much about it. I was more focused on finding the best deals and convenient travel options. However, after hearing about data breaches in the travel industry, I started paying closer attention. I realized that every booking leaves a digital footprint. If a platform does not properly secure its systems, sensitive personal data could be exposed or misused. This made me more cautious about which websites I trust, and I now prefer well-known platforms that clearly state their privacy policies and data protection measures.

Payment Security: Trusting the System

Online payments are another area where security plays a major role in my e-tourism experience. Whether I’m paying for a hotel, flight, or tour package, I usually enter my credit card or use digital wallets. In the past, I felt a bit uneasy typing my card details into unfamiliar websites. Over time, I learned to look for security indicators such as HTTPS, secure payment gateways, and two-factor authentication. Platforms that offer trusted payment options make me feel more confident. Once, I experienced a suspicious transaction after booking through a less reputable site, which forced me to cancel my card and contact my bank. That experience made me realize how important strong payment security is in e-tourism.

Privacy Awareness as a Traveler

Another issue I’ve noticed is how much my data is tracked after booking. I often receive targeted ads, promotional emails, and recommendations based on my travel searches. While personalization can be helpful, it sometimes feels invasive. It made me question how my data is being stored, shared, or sold to third parties. Now, I actively manage my privacy settings, avoid saving payment details unless necessary, and read privacy policies more carefully. I also appreciate platforms that are transparent about how they use customer data and give users control over their information.

Final Thoughts

My personal experience with e-tourism has shown me that security and privacy are just as important as convenience and price. Online booking and payment systems have made travel easier, but they also require trust. As a traveler, I’ve learned to be more informed and cautious, while I believe e-tourism platforms must continue improving their security measures to protect users. In the end, a safe and private digital environment allows travelers like me to enjoy the benefits of e-tourism without unnecessary worry and that peace of mind is just as valuable as the journey itself.

Reflect on building ethical online communities

Over the past months, I’ve found myself thinking a lot about what it actually means to build an ethical community. Not just a group of people who get along, or who share common interests, but a space that actively encourages fairness, empathy, accountability, and integrity. It sounds simple in theory who wouldn’t want that? But the reality is far more complicated and, honestly, deeply human.

One of the first things I learned is that ethics in a community don’t just appear. They’re cultivated. They emerge from countless small choices: the way we respond when someone makes a mistake, how we include new voices, how we handle disagreements, and whether we value being right over being respectful. These choices often happen quietly, almost invisibly, but their impact is loud.

A major turning point for me was realizing that ethical community-building starts long before rules or guidelines. It starts with culture what we normalize, what we celebrate, what we tolerate. If people feel safe to express concerns, if they see transparency modeled by leaders, if apologies aren’t considered signs of weakness, then that culture becomes the soil where ethical behavior grows naturally.

I’ve also learned that diversity isn’t just a “nice to have.” It’s a safeguard. When a community includes people with different backgrounds, perspectives, and lived experiences, it becomes harder for blind spots to go unnoticed. Ethical communities aren’t echo chambers; they’re spaces where discomfort, curiosity, and compassion can coexist.

But perhaps the most challenging lesson is this: ethical communities require ongoing maintenance. They aren’t built once they’re built continuously. Values need revisiting. Conflicts need addressing. Policies need updating. People change, contexts shift, and communities must evolve if they want to remain healthy.

What keeps me committed to this work is seeing what’s possible when a group genuinely tries. When people show up with honesty and good faith even imperfectly something beautiful happens. Trust grows. Creativity expands. The community becomes not just a place people participate in, but a place they feel responsible for.

Building ethical communities is messy, slow, and often uncomfortable. But it’s also one of the most meaningful experiences I’ve ever been part of. And if there’s one thing I’m sure of, it’s that the effort is worth it because we’re not just shaping the community. We’re shaping the people within it, including ourselves.

My Netiquette Commitment in Virtual Reality: Navigating Ethical Digital Spaces

My Netiquette Commitment: Fostering Respectful Digital Communication

As we navigate the vast landscape of the internet, I believe it's essential to reflect on how we communicate with one another in this digital realm. Recently, I embarked on a journey to deepen my understanding of ethical digital communication, which led me to formulate my own Netiquette Commitment a promise to engage respectfully and responsibly in online interactions.

Respectful Communication

One of my core commitments is to treat every interaction with courtesy and respect. I've often been reminded that behind each screen lies a person with their own unique experiences and emotions. This awareness encourages me to pause before I respond, ensuring that my words uplift rather than offend.

Clear and Thoughtful Expression

I’ve learned that clarity is vital in online communication. The absence of voice tone and body language can lead to misunderstandings, so I strive to express my thoughts clearly and thoughtfully. Taking the time to choose my words carefully helps me convey my message effectively, making conversations more productive.

Active Listening

As a participant in this digital communication course, I commit to adhering to the principles of netiquette to foster a respectful and constructive online environment. Active listening has become a cornerstone of my online interactions. I make a conscious effort to fully engage with others' contributions, truly absorbing their perspectives. Whether in forums or discussions, acknowledging others' viewpoints helps create a collaborative atmosphere where ideas can thrive.

Avoiding Flaming

In the past, I found myself caught up in heated discussions, often responding impulsively. Committing to avoid flaming has changed my approach. I now approach disagreements with a calm, collected demeanor, focusing on constructive dialogue rather than letting emotions dictate my responses. This shift has fostered more meaningful conversations.

Respect for Privacy

I understand the importance of respecting privacy online. Everyone deserves to feel safe in sharing their thoughts without the fear of having their personal information disclosed. I am committed to honoring these boundaries and ensuring that my digital footprint is respectful of others.

Positive Contributions

I’ve made it my goal to contribute positively to discussions. Instead of merely criticizing, I aim to add value by sharing insights or experiences that can benefit others. This not only enriches the conversation but also encourages a supportive community.

Constructive Feedback

When offering feedback, I strive to be constructive. I focus on the issue rather than the individual, aiming to help others improve without disparaging them. I realize that everyone is on their learning journey, and our words can either help or hinder that process.

Inclusivity

Finally, I am dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment in my online interactions. I embrace diverse perspectives and encourage others to voice their opinions. Creating a space where everyone feels valued is not just a commitment; it’s a necessity for productive dialogue.

Conclusion

As I share my Netiquette Commitment, I invite others to reflect on their online communication habits as well. Together, we can foster a respectful and enriching digital community, one interaction at a time. By upholding these principles, I hope to contribute to an environment where everyone feels heard, respected, and empowered to share their thoughts.

Albanian's Capital

A Day in Tirana: Finding Color in Albania’s Capital

I woke up to the soft hum of a city waking up the kind of buzz that feels both chaotic and comforting. It was my first morning in Tirana, and though I only had one day to explore, I was determined to make the most of it.

Morning: Coffee and the Call of Skanderbeg Square

No Albanian day starts without coffee strong, dark, and lingering. I found a tiny café near Skanderbeg Square, where locals chatted in quick bursts of Albanian, and the air smelled like roasted beans and pastries. From my seat, I could see the heart of the city: the grand National History Museum with its mosaic façade, the Et’hem Bey Mosque, and the ever-watchful statue of Skanderbeg himself. The square felt like Tirana’s pulse a blend of old communist architecture, new modern designs, and the unmistakable warmth of everyday life.

 Midday: Blloku and the Bunkers

After a quick stroll, I wandered into Blloku, the once-forbidden neighborhood where Albania’s communist leaders used to live. Now it’s the city’s trendiest district full of stylish cafés, street art, and laughter. I stopped at Komiteti Kafe Museum, a quirky bar filled with communist-era memorabilia. Between sips of rakia, I found myself fascinated by Albania’s complex past and how openly it’s embraced in the present. Next stop: Bunk’Art 2, a Cold War bunker turned museum. Walking through those concrete corridors, I could feel the chill of history but also the resilience of a people who’ve transformed fear into memory and art.

Afternoon: Cable Cars and City Views

By afternoon, I was ready for a change of pace, so I took the Dajti Express cable car up Mount Dajti. In just 15 minutes, Tirana transformed from a lively sprawl into a peaceful panorama. The view from the top was stunning the city below glowing in the late sun, surrounded by green hills fading into the horizon. I grabbed a cold drink at the mountaintop café and just sat there, watching the city breathe.

Evening: Street Lights and New Friends

Back in the city, Tirana was glowing. Locals strolled along Pedonale Street, children ran between fountains, and the air filled with music from open-air bars. I joined a small group at a rooftop spot, where we toasted to new places and brief encounters. The skyline sparkled, and for a moment, Tirana didn’t feel foreign at all it felt like a place I’d always meant to find. One day in Tirana wasn’t nearly enough, but it was perfect in its own way colorful, surprising, and full of contrasts. It’s a city that wears its history on its sleeve but dances into the future with open arms. If you ever find yourself here, even for a day, come ready to walk, eat, listen and let Tirana show you its rhythm.

My Budva Adventure: A Summer to Remember with Friends

We only had one day to spend there, a quick stop during our  Montenegro trip, but somehow that single day felt like a small lifetime full of laughter, saltwater, and sunshine. We hit the road early, a car full of friends, snacks, and bad singing. The drive along the coast was pure magic mountains behind us, the sea shimmering in front. By the time we reached Budva, the air already smelled like summer. We found a tiny café by the water, ordered coffee and burek, and just sat there watching people stroll by. No rush. Just the sound of waves and the chatter of strangers.

We ended up at Mogren Beach, this little stretch of paradise tucked between cliffs. The water was crystal clear that unreal kind of blue that makes you forget everything else. We swam, we laughed, we took a hundred silly photos. One of my friends tried to teach us how to dive properly (spoiler: it didn’t go well). It was one of those perfect hours when you’re aware of how good life feels in that exact moment sun on your skin, salt in your hair, nowhere else to be. After drying off, we wandered into Budva’s Old Town. Narrow stone streets, laundry lines hanging between balconies, tiny shops selling handmade jewelry and lavender soap. It felt ancient yet alive. I loved how every corner seemed to tell a story. We stopped for gelato, sat on the steps near the fortress, and just watched the world go by. There’s something so peaceful about not having a plan.

Before leaving, we climbed up to the Citadel to catch the sunset. The view golden light on the sea, rooftops glowing orange was the kind that makes you quiet inside. We didn’t talk much, just stood there, smiling.Driving back that evening, the car was quieter  the good kind of quiet. Everyone a little sunburned, a little sleepy, but so content. It’s funny how a single day can leave such a mark. Budva wasn’t about doing everything it was about being there, together, in that fleeting, perfect slice of summer. If I close my eyes, I can still hear the sea.

My Berlin & Eberswalde Experience: A Week of Research on Sustainable Tourism in Albania

This past week was a truly inspiring journey that connected my academic path, cultural curiosity, and passion for sustainability. My trip began in Berlin, one of Europe’s most dynamic and diverse capitals, and continued at Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (HNEE), where I participated in a one-week study .

Berlin: The Gateway to Green Ideas

Before heading to Eberswalde, I spent some time exploring Berlin, a city that perfectly blends history creativity, and modern sustainability practices. From green urban spaces like Tempelhofer Feld to     eco-friendly cafes and cycling routes, Berlin offered plenty of inspiration for thinking about how cities and countries can grow sustainably while preserving their culture and heritage. I also had the chance to meet with fellow students and researchers arriving from different parts of Europe, all sharing the same goal: to explore new perspectives on sustainable tourism and development. Berlin, with its open-minded spirit, felt like the perfect starting point for such a journey.

Eberswalde University: A Hub for Sustainability

The main part of the trip took place at Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development, located just north of Berlin. Known for its focus on ecological innovation and green research, the university hosted an international study conference dedicated to sustainable tourism practices in Albania

We worked closely with professors, local experts, and international students to develop small research projects and proposals that could be applied to real-world contexts in Albania. It was exciting to see how different academic backgrounds geography, environmental science, economics, and social studies came together to form innovative ideas.Even though our focus was academic, the conference brought Albania to life through data, stories, and case studies. We learned about the country’s rich biodiversity, beautiful coastal areas, and emerging eco-tourism destinations. The research highlighted how Albania’s tourism sector is rapidly growing, and how essential it is to guide that growth through sustainable strategies that protect nature and empower local communities. As I returned from Eberswalde to Berlin, I carried back more than just notes and presentations. I brought new friendships, ideas, and motivation to continue exploring how tourism can serve as a positive force for both people and the planet. My week between Berlin and Eberswalde University was a powerful blend of academic enrichment and personal discovery. It showed me how important it is to connect theory with practice, and how sustainability can unite diverse cultures and disciplines in the shared goal of creating a better future. I’m deeply grateful for this experience and excited to keep contributing to the conversation about sustainable tourism in Albania and beyond.
